Tapi! A New Film presented by the Nest premieres at IFFR 2020

We’re excited to share our first film release of 2020! We’ve been part of a really special project with the wonderful people at the International Film Festival Rotterdam: they asked us, alongside 2 other African collectives, to make films to be presented at the festival. These 3 works would be part of a total of 14, in their Pro Harvest docket. The other 2 African collectives are Geração 80 (Angola) and Kriolscope (Cape Verde).

Afrofeminism and Digital Arts

Our very own Dr. Akati Khasiani recently represented us at the Bozar Center for Fine Arts in Brussels, Belgium as part of Africa Week 2018 - where she spoke about our practice and work within an afro-feminist framework. Also on the panel were JepChumba, artist, activist and founder of African Digital Art and Marion Louisgrand, founder and director of Ker Thiossane in Dakar. The discussion was moderated by curator Oulimata Gueye.

The Nairobi Nominees for the What Design Can Do Clean Energy Challenge!

Last year we partnered with What Design Can Do to spread the word about their annual design challenge, which was focusing on Clean Energy and taking entries from 5 global cities: Mexico City, Delhi, São Paolo, Amsterdam and Nairobi! By the end of the open call, approximately 80 projects had been entered for the Nairobi City briefing.
